This class will explore the principles of narrative storytelling and visually interpreting them in comic book form. Students will leave with three to four complete short form stories by the end of the class and a greater awareness of how stories are structured and what makes them work.
Students provide:
Notebook/sketchbook
Pencils
Micron Pens
Colored Markers (optional)
The Writer's Journey by Christopher Vogler (suggested but optional)

About the Instructor:
Gene Kim is a Korean-American storyboard artist who has worked on shows for Netflix, Amazon Studios, Angel Studios, HBO Max and more. He was previously a CG artist at Disney's Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age, Rio) and a CG intern at Pixar Animation Studios before then.
