Frontline Arts Studio

We are at the intersection of Station Rd and River Rd, just off Rt 22, near Somerville.
We're open to pre-scheduled, studio rental (hourly and keyholder), lessons, classes and visitors, plus weekly Frontline Paper Sunday Workshops, and occasional Saturday and evening classes. Our staff are in the building Tuesdays through Fridays 10am to 3pm. If you'd like to stop in, please just email us in advance!
FROM EAST (MANHATTAN): 44 min (43.6 total mi from I-95 S)
Get on NY-495 W/Lincoln Tunnel from W 79th Stand NY-9A S 16 min (3.2 mi)
Take I-95 S, I-78 Express W/Phillipsburg–Newark Expy and I-78 W. Take exit 29 toward US 202 S/US 206 S/Somerville. Merge onto I-287 S. Take exit 17 to US-202 S/US-206 S, then merge right to US 22 W.
Keep left to stay on US-22 W (2.6 mi), then Exit onto Station Rd (the next exit after Milltown Rd). Turn right onto Station Rd, and in 0.7 mi FA is at the end of Station Rd. Turn left to access our parking lot on the right.
FROM SOUTH
Take NJ Tpke North and I-95 to NJ-18 N in East Brunswick. Take exit 9 from I-95 42 min (49.2 mi)
Get on I-287 N in Piscataway Township from River Rd 13 min (7.8mi)
Continue on I-287 N to Bridgewater. Take exit 14B from I-287 N
5 min (4.9 mi) Continue onto US-22 W. Follow above directions from 22 W. 8 min (6.2 mi)
FROM NORTH:
Take Garden State Pkwy South.
Take I-78 W to US-202 S/US-206 S in Bridgewater.
Take exit 17 from I-287 S, 52 min (54.9 mi)
Take US-22 W. Follow above directions from 22 W, 7 min (4.5 mi)
FROM WEST
Get on I-78 E/US-22 E from Phillipsburg, NJ/Easton, PA.
Follow I-78 E to exit 26, Rattlesnake Bridge Rd, Bedminster Twp, 20 min (22.8 mi)
Turn right onto Rattlesnake Bridge Rd. In 1.7mi turn left onto Rt 28/Easton Tpke. In 1 mi turn right onto Station Rd. FA is at the end of Station Rd. Turn left to access our parking lot on the right.

The train stops at FA approximately every 1.5 - 3 hours during weekdays only. Be sure to get on the correct Raritan Line train that stops at North Branch (goes all the way to High Bridge), or it ends in Raritan, 4 miles from here. Also, most schedules require a transfer in Newark to get to NY Penn Station. Some schedules are direct. The connecting line between Newark and NYC is normally the Northeast Corridor Line.
Thanks to the COVID Critical Needs grant via the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Frontline Arts has AeraMax Air Purifiers with HEPA, Antimicrobial Filters installed in our main studio and office areas. We also have UV-C Sanitizing, Telescoping Trolleys on every floor and a Temp Check-In kiosk station by the front door, plus fully-stocked supplies of PPE and disinfectant,
When breakthrough cases and transmission increase due to new variants, we will closely following guidelines from the CDC as well as the State of New Jersey. With this new equipment, if masks are worn when required, and if individuals with symptoms stay home, we are confident that we can maintain studio usage, classes, events and exhibition receptions safely. We ask everyone to socially distance and wear masks when and if necessary, sanitize, wash hands, and follow all posted schedules, rules and guidelines.
As a public facility, we want to be proactive in helping to prevent the potential spread of the virus. The health and well-being of our staff, board, volunteers, interns, studio renters, workshop attendees and patrons are of the utmost priority. We will continuously update our staff, as well as the public, about changes in hours, procedures and public events.
