In order to use the studio spaces and equipment at Frontline Arts, the artist must be enrolled in a current class, be using FREE class hours, be a current paid studio renter or staff person/intern/volunteer. (S)he must also participate in the review and acceptance of studio use, safety and cleaning procedures as laid out by the instructor & Frontline Arts studio manager, and obey all posted signage. I (the below-initialed) have read these policies and filled out this form to the best of my knowledge. Completion of this form releases Frontline Arts and its officers from any responsibility of accidents that may occur within the studio or with Frontline Arts' equipment, including, but not limited to handling of the presses and heavy equipment, use of chemicals, solvents and inks.
We are requiring all staff and studio users to comply to the rules of temperature checks, social distancing, wearing a mask indoors, disinfecting surfaces before and after use, and following all posted signage until COVID pandemic conditions change and we move beyond Stage 3 of reopening. These rules may change at any time, subject to CDC and NJ Department of Health regulations.
Failure to comply with these rules will result in suspension of studio access.
I have read and understand the studio use & liability waiver & COVID requirements (initial here):
Frontline Arts (FA) is committed to maintaining an environment of courtesy, safety, respect and proper conduct among all associated with the organization, including students, instructors, staff, interns, volunteers, studio renters, exhibiting artists and visitors. Some guidelines are set out below, with additional policies distributed in other documents for specific uses of our studios. Failure to adhere to the guidelines below, as well as in any additional document issued by FA, may lead to the individual’s membership, access volunteer, board or employment status being terminated or being asked to leave the premises and not return to FA studios, events or workshops. Any criminal conduct will be reported to the police and prosecuted.
FA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, age, religion or religious creed, disability, sex or gender, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law. Nor does it tolerate behavior from others on FA’s premise that might violate such laws.
FA has a zero-tolerance policy against threats or intimidation, stalking, bullying or verbal abuse, gestures of a violent or inappropriate nature, sexual harassment, physical assault, or any other behavior that creates a hostile environment.
When using the studio, FA requires that individuals be kind and courteous to everyone, and follow the instructions issued by staff, teachers and studio assistants. Disruptive behavior that distracts from learning, art-making or the center’s day-to-day operations is not allowed.
Cancellation Policy: There is no refund for signing up for the Studio and Advanced Studio Membership levels, and any of the Keyholder Membership levels (Annual Commitment and Month-to-Month). Please be considerate and schedule/cancel studio time at least 24 hrs in advance during business hours. Requests made on the weekend will not be seen until we are open.
Those renting and using the studio, whether as staff, intern, class hours, or keyholder, advanced studio or studio artist are not allowed to use Frontline Arts’ facilities to conduct their own ongoing commercial business or instruction out of Frontline Arts (unless hired by FA as a contract printer or instructor, due to liability and insurance), but only to make their own personal work.
● For example, if teaching a student lesson or running a large-scale hired job in the FA studios (such as large quantities of posters, T-shirts, invitations, contract printing, etc) paid directly to them by an outside client, they must be running the job through FA (they are paid by FA as an employee and the client pays FA directly). Teaching a group of more than one must be fully booked through and pre-approved by FA at special rates.
● Every renter and user of the studio is expected to be honest whether they are executing any commercial or hired work in the studios.
FA requires respect of the space by following all posted signage and verbal instruction. All safety rules and COVID disinfection rules MUST be followed, and it is recommended that studio users learn the potential hazards of all materials and processes used. Be mindful of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for any supplies used on the premises. Please note the following:
● Individuals should also familiarize themselves with locations and instructions for emergency showers, eye washes, first aid kits, fire extinguishers and emergency exits, as well as the proper disposal of potentially hazardous materials and proper use of disinfectants.
● FA is committed to making a continued effort to minimize contribution to pollution and waste, implementing sustainable practices whenever possible by both recycling and minimizing usage of petroleum-based products.
● More details on all disinfecting procedures, studio safety and usage are listed in the COVID guidelines & FA Studio Manual.
FA is a weapons-free and drug-free facility. Alcohol is sometimes present at special events, but is otherwise not allowed in the studio while using equipment. Public intoxication is prohibited. Smoking is prohibited inside the building or within 25 feet of any entrance.
Park in our parking lots at your own risk. FA is not responsible for any damage to vehicles.
