Coptic Binding Mini Books with Lindsey Knipe
Thursdays, October 28th and November 4th, 6-8pm via Zoom
Members: $70, Non-Members: $85, Materials Supplied by Students
In this virtual class, students will learn how to create handbound mini-notebooks (sized 4.5" x 6") using the ancient method of coptic binding. Coptic bindings have hard covers and an exposed spine. This spine allows the book to open all the way and be able to lay completely flat.
Students will learn how to prepare hard covers, fold and punch signatures, and do the slip stitch required for coptic binding. This binding is a great introduction to further work with advanced bookbinding stitches and case-bound books.
Frontline Arts is now offering tuition assistance to eligible candidates. To apply, please fill out this form. All submissions must be completed by the sign up deadline.
