Per Diem Veteran Papermaking Instructor

Frontline Arts is seeking per diem Veteran papermaking instructors for workshops in our studio as well as across New Jersey and potentially the the Mid-Atlantic/East Coast as needed.

As an instructor at Frontline Arts, you will be helping teach our mobile and on-site workshops for Frontline Paper. Instructors should be willing to travel, for 1-7 days, be eager to engage with the veteran community (plus family and active duty) and larger public. They should also have a passion for transformative workshops with veterans involving the art of making paper from military uniforms, along with some printmaking techniques. Frontline Arts will provide training, along with trauma-informed sessions conducted once per year. All military branches are welcome.

Requirements

-Be a veteran of the military (all branches, ranks and experience welcome. Spouse or direct family may be considered)

-Some Papermaking experience or ability to learn, with perhaps some basic knowledge of printmaking or bookbinding techniques.

-Teaching experience is helpful, as is conducting workshops with writing prompts, but it is mostly important to be able to engage with the veteran community

-Flexible schedule including multiple weekdays and weekends (with several weeks or months prior notice)

-Reliable transportation to Branchburg, NJ or other workshop locations across the Eastern US if not traveling from Frontline Arts

-Ability to stand and lift up to 50lbs

Pay Rate

- approximately $20-$30 per hour based on experience, with special day rates, mileage reimbursement, cash per diems for food and paid lodging during multi-day workshops
