Non-Toxic Etching: Soft Ground with Len Merlo

In this one day, in-person workshop, participants will cover the following: create a small editions of prints from a copper plate using soft ground. Students will have the opportunity to draw directly using contour lines and incorporate hard ground etching. The overall goal of this class is to introduce non-toxic alternatives into traditional intaglio printmaking techniques. All materials, mediums and clean up materials will utilize non-toxic methods that fulfill the mission of our non-toxic and environmentally safe initiative.

-1 pair of Rubber Kitchen Gloves
-6 Pairs of latex gloves
-Paper towel roll
-Soft Pencils: 3B, 2B, Ebony
-Approx. 6-8 small and medium size brushes
-2 sketches, or drawings sized for 5x7 plate
